A dental prophylaxis is a cleaning treatment performed to thoroughly clean the teeth and gums and is an important dental treatment for oral hygiene and stopping the progression of gingivitis or periodontal disease which can be followed by chronic medical conditions, up to heart and respiratory diseases.
