What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots. Once integrated with the bone, they support crowns, bridges, or dentures that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Unlike bridges or dentures, implants preserve surrounding bone and do not rely on adjacent teeth for support.
At Laudenbach Periodontics & Dental Implants, our periodontists plan and place implants using advanced technology — including Planmeca Cone Beam 3D imaging and an in-office RapidShape 3D printer. We exclusively use Straumann implants, the global gold standard backed by decades of clinical research.
Types of Dental Implants
We offer a full range of implant solutions to match your specific needs, whether you are replacing a single tooth or an entire arch.
Single Tooth Implants
Replace one missing tooth without affecting neighboring teeth — the most common and predictable solution.

Full-arch restoration supported by as few as four implants, often completed in a single appointment.
Learn more →Full Arch Dental Implants
A comprehensive fixed solution for patients missing all or most teeth on the upper or lower arch.
Learn more →Implant-Supported Overdenture
A removable denture secured by implants for improved stability, comfort, and long-term bone preservation.
Learn more →Same-Day Tooth Replacement
In eligible patients, a temporary restoration may be placed the same day as implant surgery.
Learn more →Peri-Implantitis Treatment
If an existing implant shows signs of infection or bone loss, our team can treat the issue to restore implant health.
Learn more →Are You a Candidate?
Most adults in good general health who have one or more missing teeth may be candidates. A thorough evaluation will determine the right approach based on your bone density, gum health, and medical history.
- Sufficient jawbone density to support the implant post
- Healthy gum tissue free from active periodontal disease
- No uncontrolled systemic conditions that may affect healing
- Non-smoker status, or willingness to stop smoking during treatment
- A commitment to long-term oral hygiene and maintenance
If bone loss has occurred, bone grafting may be performed first. Our periodontists perform both procedures in-house, streamlining your care from start to finish.
“Not sure if you’re a candidate? Most people who think they aren’t actually are.”Our $219 consultation includes a full cone beam CT scan — we’ll give you a real answer, not a guess.
Get Your Answer“Many patients who believe they are not candidates for implants because of bone loss may still have options. A cone beam CT scan gives us a complete picture before we make any determination.”
The Implant Process
Dental implant treatment is completed over several months in carefully planned stages designed to give each implant the best chance of long-term success.
Consultation & 3D Imaging
A full cone beam CT scan evaluates your bone volume, nerve locations, and anatomy to drive the entire treatment plan.
Bone Grafting (if needed)
If bone volume is insufficient, a bone graft is placed first. Healing typically takes 3–6 months before implant placement proceeds.
Implant Placement
The titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia. Most patients report minimal discomfort following the procedure.
Osseointegration
Over 3–6 months, the implant fuses with the surrounding bone — creating the stable anchor for the final restoration.
Final Restoration
Once healed, the crown, bridge, or denture is placed. The result looks and functions like a natural tooth.
What Does It Cost?
The cost varies based on the number of implants, whether bone grafting is needed, and the type of restoration. While implants are a higher upfront investment than bridges or dentures, they may last a lifetime — making them the most cost-effective solution over time for many patients.
We work with most major insurance carriers and offer flexible financing options. Our team will review your benefits before treatment so there are no surprises.
